In a career spanning more than 50 years, Belgian-born, US-based folk singer-songwriter Tucker Zimmerman has maintained a degree of obscurity and earned a reputation as one of American folk music's most underrated talents.
Over the years, Zimmerman has been rediscovered and praised by musicians like Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief ("Tucker Zimmerman is one of the greatest songwriters of all time") and Angel Olsen, as well as some of the greats - Tony Visconte and David Bowie (who called Zimmerman "overqualified for folk") were fans early in Zimmerman's unfinished career.
Now Tucker Zimmerman returns with "Dance Of Love", his 11th studio album and 4AD debut, with Big Thief (and Mat Davidson and Zach Burba) as his backing band and collaborators. The result of this cross-generational symbiosis is a moving manifesto from a great songwriter who had a career in the shadows. Now, at 83, he steps into the light and sings about great friendships, hard but valuable lessons, worldly experiences and the love with which he has always danced closely through a long and fulfilling life.
