"Beyond the good. Beyond evil. Beyond your wildest imagination." The animated film "The Transformers: The Movie", released in 1986, is based on the animated series of the same name. It was directed by Nelson Shin, who also produced the original Transformers television series, and features the voices of Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Casey Kasem, Robert Stack, Lionel Stander, John Moschitta, Jr, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker. Orson Welles, who died just days after his last shot for the film, and Scatman Crothers, who died months after the film's release, also played their last roles in this film.

The soundtrack composed by Vince DiCola with synthesizer music and driving metal music is much darker than the TV series. The song "The Touch" by Stan Bush, which plays an important role in the film, was originally written for the Sylvester Stallone film Cobra.

The movie also features other well-known songs, including "Instruments of Destruction" by N. R.G., Stan Bush's song "Dare", two songs by Spectre General, "Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way", "Hunger" and the song "Dare to Be Stupid" by "Weird Al" Yankovic. The Transformers theme song for the film was sung by the band Lion.

"The Transformers: The Movie" is available in a limited edition of 4000 individually numbered copies on UNICRON marbled vinyl and comes in a deluxe sleeve with linen laminate.
