This Destination (Limited Edition) (Red Gold Vinyl) [LP]

The third solo album from the great British songwriter Gary Kemp.

THIS DESTINATION is Gary Kemp's most personal album to date, on which the songwriter processes his own thoughts and feelings about the past, present and future in the form of uncanny stories and characters. The album is at once semi-autobiographical and an exercise in sensitive scenography.

The album features complex and thoughtful arrangements, including strings by the renowned John Metcalfe (formerly of The Durutti Column and more recently string arranger for Peter Gabriel, Blur and U2).

"This Destination" is accompanied on keys and backing vocals by Toby Chapman, a long-time Kemp collaborator who co-produced the album at London's Reformation and RAK studios.

Renowned bassist Guy Pratt, who has been responsible for the rhythm section in Pink Floyd since 1987, was asked to play bass on some of the songs. Pratt has already worked for Madonna, Roxy Music, The Smiths and Womack & Womack, to name but a few. On the album's closing track, Mercury Prize nominee Sam Lee sings from the heart.
