Summon The Heroes is an album by the legendary composer John Williams, performed by the Boston Pops Orchestra.
This album is certainly one of the "opportunities for beauty" of the founder of the modern Olympic Games.
Some of the works are from the games themselves - Josef Suk's "Toward a New Life" won a silver medal for music composition at the 1932 Olympics - others are from what could be roughly described as the "spectacle" inspired by the games.
Many of these fit well into the fanfare style that characterizes the opening ceremonies; others capture the solemnity of the occasion, culminating in the Olympic Oath. Taken together, they form a great soundtrack not just for the centenary of the modern Olympic Games, but for the whole drama of the Olympic phenomenon.
