Removing all expectations, constraints and limitations, there is a certain purity and attraction to art that is simply for the sake of genuine expression.

The desire to bring one's unencumbered ingenuity and unique vision to the world is an attitude that is often celebrated for transcending boundaries, and it is on this premise that German newcomers Senna were founded. Their name is derived from the Arabic word for brightness, brilliance or the band members Simon Masdjedi (vocals), Tobias Stulz (guitar/vocals) vocals), Marcel Dürr (guitar), Fabian Cattarius (bass) and Leon Dorn (drums), never intended for Senna - originally formed as a studio side project - to become a fully-fledged entity in its own right.

But with a brilliant blend of playful yet technical instrumentation and edgy hard rock with progressive post-hardcore, it's only fitting that both the innovative band and their debut album step into the spotlight for all to see. "It was really liberating," recalls guitarist Marcel Dürr of the group's mindset before their SharpTone debut. "Because we didn't initially pursue Senna as a proper band, we had a lot of time to experiment with our sound. Our aim was to simply write the music that we enjoy without being tied down to a specific genre.
