Stevie Ray Vaughan's third studio album "Soul To Soul" was released in 1985, just two years after his successful debut "Texas Flood". For "Soul To Soul", Stevie had recruited two new band members on keyboard and saxophone, who concentrated more on a soulful, R&B-influenced blues sound. The band is well versed in a number of cover versions of songs penned by Hank Ballard, Doyle Bramhall and Willie Dixon, bringing a variety of influences to SRV's brand of modern blues. His own compositions such as "Say What", "Ain't Gone 'N' Give Up On Love" and "Life Without You" show an artist who is always passionate about delivering real blues while growing in his songwriting.
