Way Out West", a classic of the genre, was tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins' first album for the West Coast label Contemporary Records, released in 1957. It was the first album to use the "strolling" technique. Rollins was supported by Ray Brown (bass) and Shelly Manne (drums)
This reissue, released as part of the Acoustic Sounds Series, features (AAA) lacquers cut from the original master tapes by Bernie Grundman and is pressed on 180g vinyl by QRP and presented in a tip-on cover.
