In renewed collaboration with Black Acid Soul producer Chris Seefried, a second album was created that not only embodies the freewheeling, soulful Lady Blackbird sound, but also contains deeply vulnerable lyrics that tell of the singer's difficult rise to musical stardom.

By taking control of her life and her sound, Lady Blackbird is forging a new path, making every note on Slang Spirituals a step in a radically different direction. Across 11 tracks, Lady Blackbird deploys her stirring, cinematic vocal power, from the soulful orchestral fanfares of "Let Not (Your Heart Be Troubled)" to the fingerpicking folk storytelling of "Man On A Boat" to the euphoric gospel empowerment of "Like A Woman" and the seven-minute psychedelic soul instrumental of "When The Game Is Played On You".
