"Cherry Blossom Baby", Shigeto's first album since 2017, springs from a collective thaw and is ambitious, collaborative and accomplished. The Detroit-based Japanese-American musician, DJ, co-founder of the Portage Garage Sounds label and longtime Ghostly International artist takes on the role of producer and composer.

For "Cherry Blossom Baby," Saginaw drew inspiration from the cherry trees that bloom every spring in Hiroshima - an enduring image of hope, resilience and renewal. "I am a cherry blossom baby," he says. "We are all cherry blossom babies, we are all resilient, we all grow, and we all will continue to do so."
