After more than 30 years in the business and twelve years after their last album "Killing Music", Benediction are now back with one of their best releases and are once again playing in the Death Metal Champions League.
The new album "Scriptures" (produced by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studio in England) sounds 100% like Benediction: Inimitably they merge their death metal with a "fuck-off punk rock attitude", heavy metal riffing and a groove that hardly any other band can boast.
Dave Ingram's "signature growls" and meaningful lyrics refine the overall sonic picture, so that you can hear after just a few bars that you're dealing with Benediction. All in all, "Scriptures" is an album from a single source, where everything is just right.
A jewel in the catalog of a band that has been there from the beginning and - to paraphrase one of their most popular songs "We bow to None" - has always remained true to itself and its fans.
