Revelation [CD]

Leif Vollebekk is a philosophy student who has developed into a troubadour. On the aptly named album "Revelation", he combines Carl Jung's I Ching thoughts, Wittgenstein's love of language and the lyrical poetry of Bob Dylan.

The 11 tracks are reminiscent of the storytelling skills of his compatriots Leonard Cohen and Gordon Lightfoot, the crystalline sound of the Eagles and the lush pop of Nick Drake and Scott Walker. The finished work, recorded with prominent musicians such as drumming legend Jim Keltner (Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones), Grammy-winning steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar (Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Rod Stewart) and Australian singer/songwriter Angie McMahon, sounds organic, earthy and handmade. In terms of content, it weaves nature themes into a meditation on life in a constantly changing present, permeated by existential doubts and the search for a higher power.
