Welby Ings writes and directs this New Zealand gay-themed drama. Jim (Jordan Oosterhof), a 17-year-old boxer, has set out to follow in the footsteps of his father, Stan (Tim Roth). Jim has a promising boxing career ahead of him, but when he meets Whetu (Conan Hayes), a Maori teenager who is harassed for being gay, he struggles to reckon with the prevalent toxic masculinity within his small town and becomes disillusioned towards boxing.
As Jim and Whetu grow closer he becomes protective of Whetu, but soon his romantic life and boxing career clash and Jim will be forced to make difficult decisions.
