"Prehistoric Sounds" is the third studio album by Australian punk rock group The Saints from 1978. It was the last album with founding guitarist Ed Kuepper, who left the band shortly after its release.
The album was described by AllMusic as "the textbook for a great rock album where the horns play as big a role as the guitar". In 2010, "Prehistoric Sounds" was included in the top 50 of the 100 best Australian albums.
The album contains two cover versions of the soul classics "Security" by Otis Redding and "Save Me" by Aretha Franklin.
