Now, Godflesh have neither reinvented "The End", nor have they reworked the Oedipus myth, but their songs also deal with difficult family constellations and refer to themes such as obsessions, anxiety, depression, fear or mortality.
The creative process for "Post Self" took more than two years. The album takes Godflesh, who have always been very versatile, further away from metal. It incorporates various influences and is more reminiscent of post-punk and industrial.
"Post Self" is the ninth studio album by the band from Birmingham, who formed in 1988 and split up for eight years at the beginning of this millennium. in 2010, the post-industrialists with a past in bands such as Napalm Death were back again. They are regarded as influential for numerous metal bands with experimental aspirations.
