Foster The People are back in 2024 after three years with new music. Just in time for the summer, the three-time Grammy-nominated multi-platinum band is releasing a song that shines like the sun or, alternatively, like a glittering disco outfit, because "Lost In Space" is full of late-70s grandeur. With "Lost In Space", Foster The People are celebrating their debut on Atlantic Records and announcing their fourth studio album at the same time. It is entitled "Paradise State of Mind" and is eagerly awaited seven years after the last longplayer 'Sacred Hearts Club'.

'The album started out as a case study in the crossover of disco, funk, gospel, jazz and all those sounds of the late 70s. It was a very special time when these different styles of music were quoting each other - artists like Nile Rogers and Chic, the Tom Tom Club and Giorgio Moroder,' says Mark Foster. 'I wanted to immerse myself in that time and get a feel for what was going on back then. I also thought about the musical and social parallels to our own time, with the massive recession in the seventies, the political unrest after Vietnam and other major tensions. And then, in contrast, you have music that expresses pure joy. You can't help but see it as a defiant gesture of resistance
