Liquid Swords [2LP]

"Liquid Swords" by GZA is a cold, cryptic masterclass of rhyme and atmosphere and contains some of the cleverest, most intelligent and recognizable bars ever recorded. It's so absurdly satisfying to listen to from front to back, so naturally interwoven and so visual that it feels like a movie. It's not widely regarded as a hip-hop classic for nothing.

The silky vocals of GZA aka The Genius permeate the great production that layers beats and sounds perfectly. As part of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, his contract allowed him to sign with another label as an individual artist, which gave GZA the opportunity to make this album. Each member of the group has an appearance on this album, but GZA calls the shots.

Listening to this album you have to know how talented GZA is with his rhymes, he tells a story like no other and has an incredible flow. The songs are about life in the streets, various other topics and even labels taking advantage of artists. None of the topics he covers are ridiculous like many of today's artists who talk about rims and grills.
