Lightnin' Strikes (Acoustic Sounds) (180g) [LP]

Lightning has struck twice! Lightnin' Hopkins recorded two different albums under the title "Lightnin' Strikes".

This one was recorded in 1965 in Los Angeles for the Verve Folkways label (the other in 1962 for Vee-Jay). Fueled by peach schnapps and top-class session musicians, Hopkins interprets a series of classic blues numbers here, all of which he wrote himself.
