Ex-Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and former Stone Roses guitarist John Squire have recorded an album together. And because this fact alone is reason enough for (at least) all Britpop fans to go for it, the album is simply called "Liam Gallagher & John Squire".
For many, the Stone Roses' 1989 debut album of the same name is the most important English album ever. Liam Gallagher is one of those people. With Oasis, he spun the sound of John Squire and co. in the 90s and made them famous all over the world. So it sounds almost too good to be true that these two icons from Manchester are now joining forces.
The waves of anticipation among fans helped the pair's first single "Just Another Rainbow" to reach number 16 in the UK singles charts straight away. Liam's highest entry into the UK singles charts for 15 years.
