Written after the birth of her daughter in 2023 and recorded with her in the room next door, Laura reflects on her own experiences as a mother on "Patterns in Repeat". The music comes from a specific and revealing time in Laura's life, but it also explores the ideas and behaviors we pass down through generations within the family. Almost entirely acoustic, with minimal overdubbing and elegantly placed orchestral accents, this is the most focused and subtle collection of songs in Laura's career.
