Kendrick released his new album "GNX" last Friday without any teasers or advance notice. A good two years after its predecessor "Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers", Kendrick Lamar, the first hip-hop artist to win the Pulitzer Prize, presents his sixth album with a total of 12 new tracks. Lamar once again presents very special guests: R&B queen SZA shares the microphone with him twice, while other features include Roddy Ricch, Hitta J3, Dody6, Sam Dew and Mexican mariachi singer Deyra Barrera. The fact that Lamar has mainly chosen younger, lesser-known artists from L.A. fits in with the album's legendary West Coast sound and makes a statement for contemporary hip hop.
