With over 30 years of active, villainous work under their spikes and bullet belts, Necrophobic are undisputed legends of the death and black metal scene. Formed in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner, the Stockholm blackhearts have represented a unique and fearless vision from the very beginning. Creating a bold identity of their own, Necrophobic conjured up a densely melodic yet infinitely wicked version of macabre extreme metal that has since been emulated by countless bands.
Despite numerous line-up changes and moments of turmoil, the dark light of Necrophobic has never been extinguished. When the band's most effective line-up reunited for 2018's "Mark Of The Necrogram" album, it was obvious to fans and critics alike that the Swedish quintet had returned to the incandescent form that once cemented their reputation.
With guitarists Sebastian Ramstedt and Johan Bergeback back after a 5 year hiatus, it was a career highlight for all involved. Not only was it the best sounding album of the band's career, it was also one of the most monstrous, dramatic and destructive of the decade, making the prospect of the next Necrophobic albums even more tantalizing.
