"Living in the Material World", George Harrison's highly acclaimed second solo album of original music following the Beatles' break-up in 1970, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. With lyrics that emphasize his ongoing exploration of spiritual themes, the album was well received by audiences. Just 5 weeks after its release in May 1973, both the LP and its single "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)" simultaneously topped the US album and singles charts. On its release, Rolling Stone described it as a "pop classic", a work that "stands alone as an article of faith, marvelous in its radiance".
Now, under the loving supervision of Dhani and Olivia Harrison, "Living in the Material World" has been remixed in its entirety from the original tapes for a stunning suite of 50th anniversary releases. The new mix has been remixed by three-time GRAMMY® award-winning engineer Paul Hicks, giving the album a sonic upgrade that delivers a sound that is brighter, richer and more dynamic than ever before.
