Timeless jazz from two of the biggest names in the jazz business. "Ella and Louis" is a studio album by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong from 1956, accompanied by the Oscar Peterson Quartet. Having already worked together for the Decca label in the late 1940s, this was the first of three albums that Fitzgerald and Armstrong would record together for Verve Records!

Although the pair had already recorded several singles together, the first LP - "Ella & Louis", which combined the magic of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong Armstrong became an instant classic. They are accompanied by an all-star group consisting of the Oscar Peterson Trio, with Peterson on piano, Herb Ellis on guitar and Guitar and Ray Brown on bass and Buddy Rich on drums.
