In 1957, Clifford Jordan set off from Chicago, known as the Windy City, to blow a breath of fresh air into the New York jazz scene with his tenor sax. In the same year, he recorded the album "Cliff Jordan" for Blue Note, on which he led a truly top-class septet with a brilliant brass frontline and an excellent rhythm section.
