Alongside John Coltrane, Charlie Parker is without question not only one of the most important saxophonists in jazz, but also one of the most style-defining musicians of modern times. There are countless releases of the recordings from his short creative phase "Birds", which are among the most important documents of jazz. The discovery of unreleased Parker recordings is always considered a sensation, which is why these recordings from the years 1941-1951 are also likely to cause a great stir. Most of them have never been heard before and some of them were unknown to exist at all. In addition to two unreleased 78 singles with the Jay McShann band, two private Parker sessions can be heard here, recorded at the home of his friend Phil Baxter and in Vic Damon's studio.
For all fans of classic jazz, this 140g pressing in a singles sleeve with new liner notes is indispensable.
