Change Everything (180g) [LP]

Originally released in June 1992 on A&M Records, "Change Everything" reached #2 in the UK charts and spawned four Top 30 singles. This reissue is a faithful recreation of the 1992 A&M UK release and has been pressed on high quality 180g vinyl.

"Change Everything" is a fitting title for this album, the first since Waking Hours, their breakthrough in 1989. Starting out as a quirky Scottish indie band, Del Amitri had evolved into a West Coast-influenced leftfield pop act, and now, with the winds of success in their hair (after the lengthy build-up to Waking Hours), the group of Justin Currie, Iain Harvie, David Cummings, Andy Alston and Brian McDermott teamed up with producer Gil Norton to create a handsome rock album to capitalize on their success.

It's a varied, wide-ranging selection. Ballads like the enchanting "First Rule Of Love" and "Be My Downfall" are featured, but it's the uptempo numbers that shine, such as the lead single from "Change Everything", "Always The Last To Know", a No. 11 hit in the UK and a No. 30 hit in the US. All 12 tracks underline how important Del Amitri were for "the other 90s": straightforward, intelligent music, far removed from the headline fads.
