Cass County (Deluxe Edition) [2LP]

It's been over 30 years since the "Boys Of Summer" disappeared. His last album, apart from a best-of in 2009, is already 15 years in the past. but in 2015 he returns: Don Henley. With "Cass County", the Eagles drummer, guitarist and singer is finally releasing his long-awaited fifth solo album.

And this time, the musician takes a path between pop and country. Henley gave a first taste of this back in July 2015 with the single "Take A Picture Of This". However, long-established Henley fans should not be put off by the claim that "Cass County" is a purely 'country' album. The second single on the record proves the opposite: "That Old Flame" feat. Martina McBride is a good-humored pop rock song that tells the story of a couple who want to rekindle the flame of their love after a long break. The typical country steel guitar sounds are completely dispensed with.

In addition to the two singles, "Cass County" comes with 10 more tracks. The Deluxe Edition even contains a total of 16 songs.

Henley brought a veritable all-star cast into the studio for his new work. Mick Jagger, Jamey Johnson, Dolly Parton and Alison Krauss, among others, all contributed to "Cass County". Stan Lynch, who had already been involved in Henley's last two solo records, helped with the songwriting and production.

Incidentally, the title of the album comes from the area of the same name in Texas, where Henley grew up. It expresses his attachment to his homeland. And that's exactly what Cass County is about: the singer's roots, who he is and where he comes from, according to Henley himself.
