Tom Hardy stars as notorious gangster Al Capone in this biographical crime drama. Once one of the most feared bootleggers of the Prohibition era, in 1939 Chicago mobster Al Capone is released from prison with a deteriorating mental state caused by untreated neurosyphilis and dementia. Despite his ailing health, Capone remains under constant surveillance by the FBI, who remain convinced that his decline is an elaborate act staged to retrieve his hidden fortune.
However, as his mental state continues to deteriorate, Capone reckons with his past misdeeds as he becomes unable to distinguish reality from fantasy.
