With his first Blue Note album "Blues In Trinty", Jamaican-born trumpeter Dizzy Reece, who was living in England at the time, expanded his fan base to include such famous colleagues as Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins. And Art Blakey immediately wanted to sign him and the British tenor saxophonist Tubby Hayes, who can also be heard here, for his Jazz Messengers. The album, which also featured two prominent guests from the USA, is still considered an absolute bop classic today.
